So, the bathtub is finally clean, and I've finally made my bedroom a shoe-free zone. That's pretty much what it means - the bedroom is now clean enough that I can be barefoot, and no shoes are allowed. Eventually, the entire apartment will be shoe-free, but it'll be a while. This apartment has been the victim of what I call "benign neglect" - years of no specific active destruction, but no active care or upkeep, no love. Frankly, I could say the same about myself. In a way, the apartment and I are very much alike. That will change. It's changing now.
I have photos, but they're in the middle of uploading - Verizon Wireless is very slow. Check my Flickr account in about half an hour (the link is to the left on my LJ), and you'll see the first images of an impossible mess. On the other hand, the apartment has good bones, and good potential. By the end of the year, this place will be a unique and faded beauty, livable and comfortable. A home. Frankly, I'm hoping to say the same about myself. :/
