Why the change? Well, first off, no one visits my website - which is par for the course, since no one knows who in blazity-fuck I am, so they ain't looking for me on the great intarwebs (unless you count all the "hot free erotic fuck-fiction" searches I seem to pop up on - gah!). So although I post more often over there, I get less interaction, and the result is that I feel more and more isolated from writers and the writing profession in general. That's not a good thing.
Second, I've come to realize that no one has a fucking clue what I write about because I never talk about it over here. I don't know, maybe none of you want to know what I write about - but at least with Livejournal, you can always balete my sorry ass if you're tired of my moaning on and on about word counts 'n' shit. Although, I plan on using
Third, I do miss having conversations with people about writing. I don't get to socialize much in real life - I can't seem to get into any writing workshops, and my convention time is limited (because of my budget) to maybe one a year. So, this is it. Best to make the most of it.
Fourth, and most important: I feel, as Bilbo Baggins would put it, like butter scraped over too much toast. I need to cut down not on my internet time, but on all the places I post. This is a start. I'll keep that website blog open for posting about sales and publications, but other than that, considered it closed for business. Those of you who subscribe to the Livejournal feed, you're welcome to dump it, since I'll also post about sales/publications over here (and I for one understand how annoying it is to read the same damn thing over and over again). Those of you who'd really rather not read about word counts and my wacky writing theories and adventures with my centipede insect overlords are welcome to dump this LJ and friend the feed instead. This is it, people - your chance to unfriendinate me has arrived! Balete me and run - run far far away!
