Ouch!

Standard form rejection from Asimov's for "The Four Hundred Thousand" - it's the form that says my story probably wasn't imaginative or original enough for publication. Arg. But, it is a little amusing.

I have no idea where to send it next. I honestly don't believe the subject matter would fly over at F&SF, and it's not hard sf-y enough for Analog, so...? I dunno, so I'm just going to set it aside for now. I'll send it out again when I find a market for it. In the meantime: bleh, and lol.

Marine Autumn

I owe you marine autumn
With dankness at its roots
and fog like a grape
and the graceful sun of the country;
and the silent space
in which sorrows lose themselves
and only the bright crown
of joy comes to the surface.

--Pablo Neruda.
