Gladly Lost

Bowling in the Catskills

Thunderstorms, again - the second time today. The sky is eldrich-grey, except for multiple flashes of lightning ripping through the clouds. This makes this the... I've lost count of how many thunderstorms in the last month. Not that I'm complaining. I think it's fantastic. Granted, I no longer live in the underground mushroom flat basement apartment, so I don't have to worry about the sewers vomiting strangers' turds into my living room. At least ants and bees are clean. :/

Speaking of - the ants have, as of today, been unseen for two full weeks. Someone came and caulked up the entire half of the office, after which I dumped a pound of cinnamon all around, like I was laying red brick dust that my enemies can't cross over. The office is mine again - not quite as it was before, with less books and clutter, but mine nonetheless. Like I said before: in my apartment, there is only one Queen.

And here comes the rain, riding in on a cold hard wind that snaps the necks of the trees in the yard below. The factories are all dark, and the cobblestone streets pristine. What a perfect summer day.
