In lieu of actual content…

..whilst I finish up two stories that have looming deadlines, I present to you a Portrait of the Author as a Young Girl in Alaska. Honestly, is this not the best goddamn photo you’ve ever seen? (Check out those fucking boots, lol!) The great thing about it is, forty-odd years later? I pretty much look and dress the same. Except, you know, for the whiskey and rum… I drank way more as a baby, according to my mother. Evidently I was quite the cranky teether.

Big Red

P.S. That smiling toy phone in the background? I totally spoke to dead people with that. AND I STILL DO.

Marine Autumn

I owe you marine autumn
With dankness at its roots
and fog like a grape
and the graceful sun of the country;
and the silent space
in which sorrows lose themselves
and only the bright crown
of joy comes to the surface.

--Pablo Neruda.
